Highlights: Seamless connection with exterior and interior
Fairview underwent a major transformation of the original house. A substantial oak-framed extension clad with SIP panels was introduced, reshaping the home to include a spacious kitchen–dining area and a new master bedroom suite. The kitchen now opens directly to the garden through expansive sliding doors, allowing the interior and exterior spaces to flow seamlessly.
To bring natural light deep into the kitchen, part of the ceiling was recessed, making room for rooflights that cast soft top lighting and offer partial views toward the bedroom above. The kitchen itself adopts a farmhouse character with an Aga recessed into an alcove framed by narrow arrow-slit style windows.
Stone tiles run continuously from the kitchen into the adjoining open-plan dining zone, creating a unified, understated floor surface.
Positioned above the kitchen, the master bedroom sits within the roof structure of the oak frame. Exposed timber boards along both the floor and ceiling lend the space a warm, rustic, ski-lodge ambiance. Generous glazing—including a full gable window and a broad new dormer—fills the room with daylight and frames vistas of the beautifully landscaped rear garden.
